KATHMANDU: Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ Chairman of Maoist Center, has called for the unification of Nepal’s communist revolutionary forces.

In a statement issued on Thursday to mark the birthday of Chinese communist leader Mao Zedong, Prachanda emphasized the importance of drawing inspiration from Mao’s thoughts and practices.

“It has become an essential responsibility for Nepal’s communist revolutionary forces to unite and engage in study, research, and practice in order to build socialism with Nepali characteristics, inspired by the ideas and practices of Comrade Mao,” the statement read.

Prachanda also highlighted that the campaign for good governance, social justice, and prosperity, which he launched during his tenure in government, aligns with the strategy of building socialism tailored to Nepal’s unique context.

“We are currently engaged in a struggle to complete the Nepali democratic revolution, based on our own originality and characteristics, and to lay the foundation for building socialism,” he said.

“The campaign for good governance, social justice, and prosperity that we initiated under the government leadership was a practical step in implementing this political strategy, and our party continues to work toward its realization, both in the legislature and on the streets.”
