Hot Air Balloon Festival revitalizes tourism in Pokhara

POKHARA: The International Balloon Festival taking place in the tourist city of Pokhara has created more vitality in the market there as the city has received more domestic and international visitors.

Ahead of the New Year 2025 and Christmas, the International Balloon Festival is happening there since December 24 on the bank of Fewa Lake and will last for 9 days.

Chairman of Balloon Nepal Bikram Bade said that the festival is being organized to promote tourism through adventure sports.

He said, “We are excited from the participation of internal and international visitors.”

Sunrise and sunset views, night balloon glows, fireworks, balloon races, hot air balloon flights offering panoramic views of Pokhara Valley and the majestic peaks of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre and Kumari Dance and Bajrayogini are the key attractions of the festival.

The hot air balloon festival is expected to entice more tourists to visit Pokhara since Pokhara Metropolitan City is marking the Pokhara Visit Year 2025.

It is said that the hot air balloon pilots from 15 countries are participants and the sky over Pokhara is colourful thanks to 17 different types and sizes of hot air balloon in the sky.

The Balloon Nepal is doing commercial balloon flights in Pokhara since 2017.
