Two die in truck accident in Tanahun

KATHMANDU: Two people died in a truck accident on Tuesday morning on the Prithvi Highway in Aanbu Khaireni Rural Municipality-1, Aandhikhola.

The deceased have been identified as 30-year-old truck driver Bheshraj Parajuli from Udayapur and 28-year-old co-driver Bijay Bishwakarma from Rautahat, according to Inspector Munendra Thapa of the District Police Office, Tanahun.

The accident occurred when a truck carrying bricks collided with a Scorpio vehicle heading in the opposite direction from Dumre to Aanbu Khaireni.

Following the collision, the Scorpio remained on the road, while the truck plunged off the bridge, resulting in severe damage.

All four passengers in the Scorpio escaped unharmed, police reported.

The truck was later retrieved using a crane. Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
