Western low-pressure system affecting Nepal’s weather

KATHMANDU: The country is currently under the influence of a western low-pressure system combined with westerly winds.

As of Tuesday morning, Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini, and Gandaki provinces are mostly experiencing cloudy weather.

In contrast, the hilly regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces are seeing partial cloud cover.

Light rain and snowfall are occurring in some parts of Sudurpaschim province, as well as a few areas in Karnali province.

The rest of the country remains predominantly clear, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

The forecast predicts light to moderate rain in certain areas of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in one or two locations in Bagmati and Madhes provinces this afternoon and evening, as noted in a bulletin issued at 6 AM on Tuesday.

There is also a chance of light to moderate snowfall in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Gandaki provinces, along with some areas in the high-altitude regions of Bagmati and Koshi provinces.

Due to the potential for fog and mist in parts of the Terai and Valley regions this morning, it is recommended to take necessary precautions, as these conditions may temporarily impact daily life, health, transport, and aviation.
