‘Lumbini circuit to be developed for tourism promotion’



LUMBINI: Chief Minister of Lumbini Province Chet Narayan Acharya has said Lumbini and the Buddhist circuit would be developed for the promotion of tourism sites.

Inaugurating the Gautam Buddha National Garden festival organized at Devdaha of Rupandehi today, Chief Minister Acharya shared that the government has forwarded a concept of connecting Rupandehi, Kapilvastu and Nawalparasi (west) with the Buddhist circuit and 12 districts of Lumbini province with Lumbini circuit.

He further said the Lumbini province government would construct tourism infrastructures in order to connect heritages from Tilaurakot to Ramgram of Nawalparasi making a master plan of the Buddhist circuit.

The Chief Minister shared that the Lumbini government was committed to developing tourism sites in the latest way to attract domestic and foreign tourists.

He laid emphasis on the need of giving priority to artistic design and local timber and materials discouraging the cemented structures in the garden.

Sharing that the ‘Let’s Visit Bardiya’ campaign has been launched to attract domestic and foreign tourists in Bardiya, CM Acharya urged to make wide publicity of the campaign.

Buddha Community Forest Users’ Group has made various wooden structures and put them on display in the festival with the objective of protecting forests, the environment and biodiversity as well as tourism promotion.
