Police investigating alleged photo of Rabi Lamichhane sleeping in custody

KATHMANDU: Kaski police are investigating a CCTV photo that allegedly shows Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane sleeping while in police custody.

The image, which surfaced on social media, has sparked debate over its authenticity.

DSP Basanta Kumar Sharma, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Kaski, confirmed the investigation into both the photo and the person who claimed to have taken it.

“A person posted the photo on social media claiming that he took it, and we are also investigating him,” DSP Sharma stated.

Dr Nicholas Bhusal, RSP cadre, claimed responsibility for the photo in a social media post.

The controversy continues as authorities work to determine whether the image is genuine or fabricated.
