KATHMANDU: The Finance Committee meeting has been postponed once more after failing to reach the required quorum of Members of Parliament.

The meeting, scheduled for 11:30 am, was delayed for 15 minutes in the hope that more lawmakers would attend. However, only 8 lawmakers were present at the time.

According to the Parliament Secretariat, the agenda of the meeting was to discuss amendments to the Secured Transactions Act 2006 with the lawmakers.

Despite the delay, the meeting could not proceed due to the absence of the necessary number of lawmakers.

This is the second consecutive day that the meeting has been adjourned at the last minute, with the ruling party lawmakers not showing up for the session.

The Finance Committee is expected to reschedule the meeting once the quorum is met.
