FNJ presidential candidate Bista objects to vote results

KATHMANDU: Ramesh Bista, the presidential candidate for the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), has raised objections to the vote results.

Despite Nirmala Sharma’s apparent victory, Bista has opposed the Federation’s vote counting process.

He criticized the election committee, stating, “A serious question has been raised about the impartiality of the election committee. It is unacceptable to lock only the election committee and one party’s candidate from the vote counting venue, especially with the involvement of former FNJ presidents Shiva Gaunle and Mahendra Bista.”

Bista also called for a recount of votes in Achham and expressed concerns over alleged irregularities, saying, “The attempted rigging and misuse of police administration in the treasurer’s election results are highly objectionable.”
