KATHMANDU: The Nepal government has made it mandatory for the out-bound Nepali workers to have a bank account and financial details for receiving work permit effective from Monday.

According to statistics maintained by the Department of Foreign Employment, around 800 Nepalis leave the country for foreign employment on a daily basis.

Issuing a statement on Friday, the Department had said that out-bound Nepali workers have to submit a bank account and financial details for work permit.

According to the statement, Nepali workers have to pay the manpower companies through banking system and that these financial details should be submitted at the Department.

When the bank account is made mandatory, it is expected that it will discourage the remittance entering Nepal through Hundi system.
