Child drowns in Mahottari river

MAHOTTARI : A child has died after being swept away by the Bighi river in Mahottari rural municipality of the district.

The deceased has been identified as two-year-old Mohammad Irfan Natta, the son of Ubes Natta of Parsatole in ward no. 1 the rural municipality, according to Superintendent of Police Shyam Krishna Adhikari.

The incident took place when Irfan was playing on top of a dam built over the river, located near his home when he fell into the river all of a sudden and was swept away by the river. His body was later recovered.
