Westerly winds impacting Nepal’s weather



KATHMANDU: The westerly winds continue to impact a large portion of the country.

In Kathmandu, these winds are creating partly to generally cloudy conditions in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while other regions are enjoying clear skies.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the weather is expected to be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces this afternoon, while the rest of the country will see clear conditions.

There is a possibility of light rain in one or two areas of the hilly regions of Koshi and Gandaki, as well as light snowfall in select high hilly and mountainous regions.

Tonight, the weather in the hilly parts of Koshi province will be partly cloudy, while the rest of the country will remain clear. There may be light rain in a few locations within the hilly areas of Koshi province.

The Division has advised caution, as light rain is possible in some areas of the hilly regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, along with light snowfall in select high hilly and mountainous areas over the next 24 hours.

This weather could partially impact agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, as well as road and air transport.
