PM Oli attends convocation ceremony of KAHS



JUMLA: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has arrived here to participate in the First Convocation Ceremony of Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS). PM Oli is the Chancellor of KAHS and attends the Ceremony as the Chief Guest.

Fifty-eight students completing the Bachelor’s and Master level in Public Health, Nursing and Medical Science subjects will be graduated at the Convocation today.
The Convocation was scheduled for September 8 before this.

Along with the Prime Minister, Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Poudel, Vice Chairman of the Medical Science Commission Prof Dr Anjani Kumar Jha and Kirsten Meisinger, Director of Center for Primary Care and System Strengthening at the Harvard Medical College of USA are also attending the Convocation Ceremony, according to Dr Dabal Bahadur Dhami, the Rector at KAHS.

Dr Dhami said that 38 students will be graduated in BPH, 13 in MBBS in the Bachelors level while three students will be graduated in MDGP, one in MD Anesthesia and one student in MD Pediatrics in the Master level.

The Prime Minister shall also inaugurate the Academic Building of KAHS after participating in the Convocation.

KAHS Administrative Officer Amrit Bahadur Bhandari said the KAHS has been making significant contribution in the health service, medical education and research.
The KAHS Senate Meeting to be held after the convocation ceremony will deliberate on the future plans and activities of KAHS, it is stated.
