Two arrested with 83 kg red sandalwood in Nepal

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested two persons with 83 kilograms of red sandalwood from Ramhiti of Bouddha.

Chyangba Lama and Yongden Gyanju Tamang were arrested with red sandalwood on Wednesday night, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Bouddha, Narendra Chanda.

A joint team from Metropolitan Police Circle, Bouddha, and Central Investigation Bureau, confiscated this amount of red sandalwood from the house of Chyangba Lama. An investigation into the case was underway.

Police said that preparation was underway to hand over the accused to the District Forest Office for necessary action.
