KATHMANDU: With the reopening of the Tatopani border at the Nepal-China border in Sindhupalchowk district, Chinese apples have begun to arrive.

The Tatopani Customs Office announced that the road, which had been blocked due to flooding on September 27, is now accessible, allowing for the transport of fruit intended for the Tihar festival.

According to the office, since Sunday, fruit trucks and some small vehicles have cleared customs.

Chief Customs Officer Kamal Kumar Bhattarai stated, “For the past three days, vehicles have been regularly checked at customs, and some have been turned away.”

He noted that a few smaller vehicles also encountered issues.

Meanwhile, the Rasuwagadhi border crossing remains closed due to obstructions leading from China.
