Two cybercrime cases filed against Durga Prasai



KATHMANDU: Two cybercrime cases have been filed against controversial medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai at the Kathmandu District Court, following an investigation by the Cyber Bureau.

The District Government Prosecutor’s Office lodged the cases based on the Bureau’s findings.

Prasai faces charges of character assassination of a woman on social media.

A second case, also related to defamation via social media, has been filed.

The prosecution is seeking a maximum sentence of five years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 100,000.

Nepal Police arrested Prasai at his residence in Bhaktapur on September 22.
