Federal Parliament Secretariat unveils 1,124-page report on Misappropriation of Cooperative Funds



KATHMANDU: The report prepared by the Parliamentary Special Investigation Committee on Cooperatives, submitted to the House of Representatives last week, has been made public.

The comprehensive document, spanning 1,124 pages, was published on Thursday by the Federal Parliament Secretariat on the House of Representatives website.

During the House meeting, Committee Chairman Surya Bahadur Thapa presented the “Report of the Parliamentary Inquiry Special Committee, 2081, Regarding Misuse of Cooperative Society Savings Funds,” highlighting its key points.

Earlier, the Council of Ministers met on Wednesday evening and decided to implement the committee’s findings.

Government spokesperson Prithvi Subba Gurung stated that the report would be forwarded to various ministries for action.

“The Parliament has decided to send the Report to the relevant ministries for implementation,” he stated.

This includes the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire has directed the Parliament Secretariat to forward the report presented by Chairman Thapa to the government for necessary implementation.
