Couple buried in Surkhet landslide; daughter rescued



SURKHET: Prem Kumari, a ward member of Barekot Rural Municipality-6, and her husband, Man Bahadur Chalune, were buried in a landslide that occurred early this morning in Dhuma, Barekot Rural Municipality.

The landslide struck at 2:00 am today. The couple’s 11-year-old daughter was rescued with injuries and has been transported to the local hospital in Limsa for treatment.

Efforts are currently underway with the assistance of local police to locate and rescue the couple, but as of now, these efforts have not been successful.
