PM Oli will see people’s power now: Prachanda

KATHMANDU: Chairman of CPN-Maoist Center, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ warned Prime Minister KP Oli of showing people’s power.

Speaking at a party event at the central office in Parisdanda on Thursday morning, Prachanda referenced Oli’s recent remark that he had metaphorically “kicked Prachanda out of power.”

“PM Oli will see people’s power now,” Prachanda retorted.

It should be noted that during CPN-UML’s politburo meeting on Wednesday, Prime Minister Oli had implied that Prachanda was ousted from power through a decisive action.

Prachanda also urged activists to counter statements against the Constitution made by leaders of the ruling party.

He emphasized that no one has the right to undermine the political achievements won through the sacrifices of martyrs.

“The Constitution refers to the ‘people’s war’ as an armed struggle, and it is clearly stated in the explanatory notes that this refers to the Maoist people’s war—something all parties have endorsed,” he said.

“Yet, some leaders from the ruling party are now labeling the ‘people’s war’ as violence, murder, and terror. These leaders need to be exposed, and the true reality as outlined in the constitution should be communicated firmly to the people,” Prachanda stated.
