106 illegal immigrants including five Nepalis arrested in Malaysia



KATHMANDU: Malaysian Police has arrested 106 illegal immigrants including five Nepalis in the latest crackdown in Kuala Lumpur.

Among those arrested 43 are from Myanmar, 32 from Bangladesh, 12 from India, nine from Indonesia, five from Nepal, two from Nigeria, two from Sri Lanka and one from Pakistan, according to an international media report.

From August 1, a five-month amnesty kicked off in Malaysia to let undocumented expatriates leave the country permanently without legal hassles.

Malaysia’s ‘Back 4 Good’ amnesty ends on December 31.

The arrested after facing for entering or leaving Malaysia without a valid pass or permit under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.

All those arrested were brought to the Jinjang, Dang Wangi and Cheras lock-up for further action following the standard operating procedure.
