Minister Pandey calls for review of aircraft crash investigation reports



KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, has emphasized the need to review the accuracy of reports submitted by investigation committees formed after aircraft crashes.

Speaking at a two-day workshop on aviation safety organized by the Airlines Operators Association of Nepal, Minister Pandey highlighted the importance of objectively assessing the findings of these reports.

The Minister stressed the need to identify existing problems within the aviation sector and implement long-term solutions.

“Probe committees are routinely formed after a plane crash. We will focus on finding long-term solutions by reviewing how much these committees’ reports are based on truth and facts,” Minister Pandey stated.

He further added, “The ministry will investigate why previous reports have not been implemented, even if they were factual, and will work towards finding solutions.”

Minister Pandey also expressed concern over the declining trust of domestic passengers in the aviation sector, urging all relevant bodies to take the issue seriously and remain vigilant.
