House of Representatives passes TRC Bill



KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives (HoR) passed the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Bill on Wednesday.

The bill, presented for deliberation by Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya, was endorsed with a majority vote.

Only Prem Suwal, a lawmaker from the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWPP), opposed the bill.

The bill seeks to amend the Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act (third amendment) – 2079 BS.
