Landslide blocks Sanfe-Martadi road

BAJURA: Transport service along the Sanfe-Martadi road in Bajura has come to a standstill as it suffered continuous erosion by the Budhiganga River.

It has been less than a year since the road had come into operation following its completion after 23 years of the laying of the founding stone.

It was hit by landslips at several locations. The closure of the road has caused inconvenience to the Bajura folks.

Meanwhile, eight families residing in the settlement adjacent to the Sanfe- Martadi road section have fled the homes due to continuous soil erosion beneath the settlement by the Budhiganga River.

Seven families had left the homes in the third week of July while the family of Tikaram Padhyaya had been forced out of the home last week said a local Nawarak Padhyay.
