Helicopter crashes in Suryachaur of Nuwakot, passengers feared dead

KATHMANDU: A helicopter belonging to Air Dynasty has crashed in Suryachaur, Shivpuri Rural Municipality Ward Number 7, Nuwakot district on Wednesday afternoon.

The District Police Office Nuwakot confirmed the accident, with SP Shantiraj Koirala reporting that the helicopter was found burning at the crash site.

According to SP Koirala, local residents and police are currently working to extinguish the fire.

Koirala informed Khabarhub that the helicopter collided with a hill before crashing, and initial reports indicate that some passengers may have died.

A police team is on-site to manage the situation and assist with the rescue efforts.

SP Koirala mentioned that district security chiefs are also en route to the crash location to support the ongoing operations.

It has been reported that the helicopter en route to Syafrubesi in Rasuwa lost contact after 2 p.m.

According to Tribhuvan International Airport Tower, the helicopter maintained communication until 2 p.m., after which contact was lost.
