KATHMANDU: The verdict in the case against Agni Prasad Sapkota, Vice Chairman of the Maoist Center, is anticipated to be announced today.

The case was filed by Purnimaya Lama, the wife of Arjun Lama, at the Supreme Court on November 22, 2012.

Purnimaya Lama alleges that Sapkota was involved in the murder of her husband.

The constitutional court has scheduled the judgment following the final hearing in this case.

Previously, the decision was postponed on June 26 despite an earlier date being set.

The writ petition has been heard by a bench consisting of Chief Justice Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha, and Justices Prakash Man Singh Raut, Sapana Pradhan Malla, Prakash Kumar Dhungana, and Kumar Regmi.

This same constitutional bench is expected to issue its order today.

The case pertains to the murder of Arjun Lama, who was the chairman of the Krishna Secondary School Management Committee in Chhatrabunj, Kavre, during the Maoist conflict in April 2005.
