Simaltal landslide update: Search operation for two missing buses resumes from early morning



KATHMANDU: Search operations for the two buses that went missing in the Trishuli River following a landslide on the Narayangadh-Muglin road in Simaltal, Chitwan, has resumed from early morning today.

Chief District Officer of Chitwan, Indradev Yadav, stated that the search restarted today after failing to locate the buses on Friday.

Efforts to locate the two buses, which were carrying passengers, were suspended on Friday evening.

Despite searches conducted from early morning on Friday, the buses remained missing by evening, leading to the suspension of the search efforts.

During the search operation, a team of divers retrieved a curtain from one of the buses from the river.

CDO Yadav mentioned that a curtain and a pair of trousers attached to Angel Deluxe bus were recovered using hooks on Friday.

He shared that four motorboats from the Armed Police Force, one from Nepal Police, and a team of divers were deployed to search for the missing buses in the Trishuli River.

The landslide, which occurred around 3 am on Friday morning in Bharatpur-29, Simaltal, swept away the Angel Deluxe bus (Bagmati Province-03-006K 1516) traveling from Birgunj to Kathmandu and another bus (Bagmati Province-03-001K 2495) traveling from Kathmandu to Gaur.
