KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City has initiated preparation classes for the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) supplementary exams starting from Sunday.

The classes are aimed at 873 students who participated in the regular SEE exams in 2080 but failed to achieve the required grades.

Shailendra Jha, an engineer and member of the Urban Planning Commission, stated, “We have started these classes at resource centers to create a conducive environment for students to pass.”

He added, “These classes are not just about passing the exams but creating a supportive environment. We teach the students the necessary material, encourage them, and help them stay motivated by assuring them that not all is lost.”

To foster a positive learning environment, the initiative includes provisions for nutritious meals for the students and the involvement of 100 teachers on a rotating basis.

The classes will incorporate methods such as individual counseling, peer learning, and group learning.

“This is also a test for the Metropolitan City,” said Secretariat Advisor Sasmita Pokhrel, adding, “Students failed certain subjects because they found them difficult. Our goal is to spark their interest in these subjects, teach them effectively, motivate them to study, and improve their grades. Therefore, this is a crucial task for us, and we must succeed.”
