KATHMANDU: Senior leader of the CPN-Unified Socialist Jhalanath Khanal is set to support General Secretary Ghansshyam Bhusal for the future chairmanship of the party.
According to Unified Socialist Central Member Naresh Shahi, leader Khanal agreed to support Bhusal in the party leadership during the meeting of young leaders held at his residence in Dallu, Kathmandu on Wednesday.
Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, Khanal, and Bhusal are seen as the potential candidates for the chairmanship at the party’s 10th general convention, which will be held for five days starting from June 30.
As the leadership tussle continues, Khanal and Bhusal reached an understanding to collaborate on Wednesday.
More than 1,800 representatives from across the country have been selected for the general convention.
