Govt’s committed to promoting all languages, cultures: Minister Tamang



KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Hit Bahadur Tamang, has said the government is aware of and committed to promoting all languages spoken in the country.

In his address to the 67th anniversary of Nepal Academy today, the Minister said the development of all languages, literatures and cultures existing in the country is the priority of the government.

The role of Nepal Academy is instrumental towards that end, he added, pledging maximum support to the Academy in its effort to enhance areas concerning languages, literature, culture and philosophy.

Stating that the foundation of Academy is based on people’s struggle and sacrifices, he described it a supreme institute mandated to undertake research and development of languages, literature, culture, social science and indigenous creations.

Established as the Nepal Literary Art Academy in 2014 BS, the organization held a national level poetry festival on the occasion of its anniversary.
