KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has announced the potential involvement of foreign companies in operating all three of Nepal’s international airports.

During a House of Representatives (HoR) meeting on Thursday, PM Dahal responded to inquiries about the Pokhara International Airport.

He indicated that discussions are ongoing regarding international collaboration for the operation of Nepal’s airports.

“This morning, I discussed with the concerned ministry about international collaboration for the operation of Pokhara and Gautam Buddha International Airports. I have received positive and encouraging updates on this matter,” stated PM Dahal.

Nepal currently has three international airports: Tribhuvan International Airport, Pokhara International Airport, and Gautam Buddha International Airport.

Challenges have arisen in operating the Pokhara and Gautam Buddha International Airports due to restrictions from India on using its air routes.

Allowing foreign companies to manage these airports could potentially address these operational difficulties.
