Nepalis spend Rs 104 billion on overseas education in 10 months, Rs 52 billion on travel

KATHMANDU: Nepali students going abroad for education have spent over Rs 104 billion in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year.

According to the report on the current economic and financial situation released by the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) on Monday, students took Rs 104 billion out of the country for education in the first 10 months of this fiscal year.

This amount is Rs 29 billion more than the same period last year.

During the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, Nepali students had spent Rs 75.14 billion on overseas education.

In addition, the report indicates that Nepali citizens spent Rs 52 billion on international travel in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year.
