KASKI: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has pledged support for the development of Sarangkot in Pokhara Metropolis-18.
In a meeting with local representatives, political leaders, and residents, the Prime Minister expressed the government’s commitment to supporting tourism, drinking water, and infrastructure development in Sarangkot, which has high tourism potential.
Purnakhar Timilsina, a local, reported that a demand has been presented to the Prime Minister to implement the Yamdi-Sarangkot Lifting Drinking Water Project to address the area’s drinking water issues.
Additional demands include upgrading the Bindhyabasini-Sarangkot road, controlling landslides on agricultural roads, developing Sarangkot as a tourism center, constructing a Tourism Park, and upgrading the National Luminary and Martyr Park.
“We presented various demands to the Prime Minister, informing him about the problems of our ward. The PM responded that the government would work to meet the needs of the local people,” Timilsina said.
Sarangkot is a preferred destination for both domestic and foreign tourists, offering stunning views of glaciers, the Pokhara market, and breathtaking sunrises and sunsets.
Prime Minister Dahal arrived in Pokhara on Tuesday evening to attend a province-level cadre training program organized by the CPN (Maoist Centre) Gandaki Province Committee at Pokhara City Hall today.
