Elderly couple perishes in devastating house fire in Dhading

DHADING: An elderly couple lost their lives in a fierce blaze engulfing their home in Ghattekhola, Purandanda, of Dhading.

Superintendent of Police Gautam KC stated that 70-year-old Tej Bahadur Lama and his wife Thuli Lama succumbed to the fire that ravaged their residence last night.

Upon receiving the report of the inferno around 11:30 pm, a swift response team from Hapsechaur Temporary Police Station and Area Police Office Khanikhola rushed to the scene, only to find the couple already consumed by the flames.

Police detailed that the conflagration, sparked by an electrical short circuit in the stone-and-clay house, not only claimed the lives of the Lamas but also razed their belongings, including food stores, garments, and a corn grinding mill, to ashes.
