ILAM: In the recent by-election for Ilam 2, Suhang Nemwang of CPN-UML clinched victory while Milan Limbu from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) faced a setback as he failed to secure 10 percent of the votes, resulting in the confiscation of his deposit amount.

Despite claims from RSP leaders asserting a landslide victory for Limbu in the constituency, the outcome proved otherwise.

Nemwang secured the win with 27,752 votes, defeating Dambar Khadka of Nepali Congress by a margin of 5,830 votes.

Khadka garnered 21,942 votes, while Dakendra Thegim, an independent candidate, secured the third position with 11,457 votes.

Milan Limbu, the RSP candidate, fell short with only 5,000 votes, leading to the forfeiture of his deposit.
