KATHMANDU: Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), urged investors worldwide to explore the opportunities presented by Nepal’s burgeoning economy at the 3rd Nepal Investment Summit 2024.

Addressing the summit, Dhakal highlighted Nepal’s vast untapped sectors and emphasized its potential as an attractive investment destination.

He pointed out Nepal’s strategic location between economic giants China and India, positioning it as a gateway to expansive markets.

Emphasizing the abundant opportunities across diverse sectors such as tourism, infrastructure, energy, agriculture, technology, and ICT, Dhakal particularly spotlighted the immense potential in renewable energy.

He cited recent agreements for power trade with India and Bangladesh as evidence of Nepal’s capabilities in hydropower generation and regional trade.

Dhakal stressed the importance of modern infrastructure in sectors like tourism, agriculture, and technology to leverage Nepal’s rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and dynamic workforce.

Additionally, he underscored the need for investment in technical education to address the gap between demand and supply of skilled human resources, thereby enhancing domestic employment and remittance inflows.

Commending the government’s efforts in implementing business-friendly policies and initiatives to facilitate foreign investment, Dhakal highlighted FNCCI’s role in boosting investor confidence through international business summits in key cities like New Delhi, Beijing, and Dubai.

He assured continuous support and commitment from the Nepali private sector for joint ventures across all potential sectors.

Expressing confidence in Nepal’s emerging growth story, Dhakal encouraged forging partnerships to pave the way for sustainable development and prosperity.
