Four foreigners rescued from Larke Pass



MANANG: Four tourists visiting the district of Manang were rescued after falling ill due to altitude sickness at Larke Pass.

The foreigners, who were trekking along the Manaslu trekking route, were rescued from Bhimtang in Nason Rural Municipality-7 of the district on Monday.

Subash Kumar Lamichhane, the Chief District Officer of Manang, stated that the tourists received basic treatment in Chame, the district headquarters of Manang, before being airlifted to Kathmandu via helicopter.

CDO Lamichhane informed that among the four foreigners, there were two South African citizens and two from New Zealand.

Furthermore, CDO Lamichhane advised foreigners to take precautions while trekking, emphasizing the risk of falling ill due to temperature variations.
