KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has urged Nepali speakers and people of Nepali origin residing across the globe to utilize the skills, knowledge, and capital they have acquired for the benefit of Nepal.
PM Dahal conveyed this message during a meeting with a delegation from the Association of Nepali Origin (ANO) at his official residence in Baluwatar today.
While acknowledging the diversity of nationalities among Nepali speakers and people of Nepali origin worldwide, PM Dahal emphasized the importance of uniting them under the common identity of Nepali heritage.
He emphasized the shared connection to the motherland, regardless of geographical distances.
The PM commended ANO’s initiative to unite Nepalis worldwide through language and culture and assured government support for the success of this endeavor.
ANO was established during a gathering held on March 19 in Bangkok, Thailand, with the aim of uniting Nepalis globally and preserving Nepali language and culture.
PM Dahal expressed gratitude to ANO for their efforts and extended best wishes for their future endeavors.
Dilliram Adhikari, President of ANO, thanked the government for its support and expressed optimism for continued collaboration.
He emphasized ANO’s commitment to promoting Nepali language, art, and culture globally, thereby contributing to national development and preserving Nepali identity for future generations.
ANO also aims to encourage Nepali investors abroad to invest in Nepal’s education, healthcare, and other sectors, as well as engage in social initiatives linked to their ancestral homeland.
The ANO delegation, including Vice-President Sushil Kumar Panta, General-Secretary Chudamani Bhattarai, and founding members KB Karkee, Om Gurung, and Dr. Damador Poudel, among others, represented Nepali origin social campaigners from 27 countries during the Bangkok gathering, which marked ANO’s First Convention and formation of a 54-member working committee under Dilli Adhikari, a Nepali origin social worker residing in the USA, originally from Bhutan.
