NC Vice Prez vows to fulfill promises made to people in five years

KATHMANDU: Vice President of the Nepali Congress (NC), Purna Bahadur Khadka, has emphasized that the relationship between the elected people’s representatives and the party leadership should be harmonious.

Addressing a training program organized by NC Surkhet district committee on the relationship between the elected representatives of the local levels and the party, Khadka expressed his dissatisfaction saying that the people’s representatives who were elected with the party’s election symbol are now starting to forget the party.

According to his secretariat, leader Khadka emphasized that there should be regular monthly meetings between the people’s representatives and the party representatives as stipulated in the party statute.

“To win, you need ticket from the party; you need the entire party line to win, cadres should work hard throughout the election period but they should not forget the party after winning the election,” he said.

Vice President Khadka, also the former Deputy Prime Minister, said it is necessary to end the practice of forgetting the party, party members and carders after being elected.

“The party also has ownership in the decisions made through discussions between the elected representatives and the party leadership. It also plays an important role in building the party organization stronger,” he said.
