Foreign remittance reaches Rs 961 billion in eight months



KATHMANDU: In the first eight months of the current fiscal year, foreign remittance inflow has amounted to Rs 961.22 billion.

According to the latest figures released by the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) on Thursday, the remittance inflow has increased by 21 percent.

In the same period last year, the remittance inflow had surged by 25.3 percent.

The remittance inflow in US dollars has reached 7.24 billion, marking an 18.8 percent increment.

In the corresponding period last year, such inflow had escalated by 14.8 percent.

During the review period, the number of Nepali workers obtaining final labor approvals (institutional and individual – new) stands at 286,932, while the number of those obtaining re-approvals is 184,278.
