Rain coupled with thunderstorms expected in Koshi, Madesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has issued a warning of impending rain accompanied by thunderstorms in several regions of Nepal.

The influence of a western low-pressure system in Nepal and a low-pressure system in North East Assam and surrounding areas of India has prompted this forecast.

According to the Division, there is a widespread shift in weather patterns across the country.

Areas within Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, along with certain regions of Madhesh province, are currently experiencing light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.

This afternoon, skies are expected to be mostly clear in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while the rest of the region may experience partly to mostly cloudy conditions.

There is a likelihood of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as a few spots in the hilly regions of the remaining provinces.

Furthermore, there is a possibility of light snowfall occurring at one or two locations in the high hills and Himalayan areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki regions.

As night falls, the weather is anticipated to remain mostly clear in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki regions.

However, there remains a chance of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in certain hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Additionally, there could be light snowfall at one or two spots in the high hills and Himalayan areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces during the night.
