Lumbini conclave advocates for friendship and goodwill

KATHMANDU: Emphasizing the crucial need for peace and prosperity while expressing a dedication to global solidarity and mutual understanding in line with the teachings of Buddha, the Lumbini Conclave extends a message of friendship and goodwill to all.

The three-day Lumbini Conclave, themed “Global Peace for Prosperity,” is taking place in Lumbini, the Birthplace of Lord Buddha, from March 21 to 23.

Participating in the conclave are non-resident ambassadors to Nepal, honorary consuls, government officials, private sector representatives, and others.

Organized by the Office of the Investment Board Nepal (OIBN) in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and Honorary Consular Corps-Nepal (HCCN), the event aims to foster dialogue and cooperation.

During his address at the conclave, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha highlighted the favorable business environment resulting from policy stability and regular improvements in laws.

Encouraging participants to explore investment opportunities in Nepal, he emphasized the pivotal role of the Investment Board Nepal (IBN) as the primary point of contact for approving and facilitating major investments in the infrastructure sector, as per a statement from OIBN.

Meanwhile, Sushil Bhatta, CEO of the Investment Board Nepal (IBN), urged non-resident ambassadors to actively participate and encourage potential investors from their respective countries to attend the Nepal Investment Summit 2024, scheduled for April 28-29 in Kathmandu.

The summit aims to explore investment prospects and leverage networking opportunities.
