KATHMANDU: The British Gurkha Army Ex-Servicemen’s Organization (BGAESO) has issued a warning of protests, stating that the state has not implemented the decision made by the Supreme Court in favor of British Gurkha soldiers.

During a press conference held in Kathmandu on Friday, BGAESO expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of implementation of the Supreme Court’s decision in favor of the national sovereignty and defense of the country, not just for the British Gurkha soldiers but for the nation as a whole, even a year after the decision was made.

Padam Sundar Limbu, the organization’s Chair, highlighted the importance attached to this significant issue concerning national sovereignty, revealing that the court’s order hasn’t been implemented for as long as a year, which remains quite mysterious.

He conveyed that since the decision came out a year ago, various struggles, including submitting memorandums to the Prime Minister, have been initiated for its implementation.

Limbu also disclosed the organization’s preparedness to intensify protests in major cities of the country, including Pokhara and Butwal, if the government fails to implement the decision in the near future.
