Weather Forecast: Rain expected in hilly regions



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has reported a partial influence of a western low-pressure system and local wind patterns across Nepal.

Currently, light rain is observed in the hilly areas of the country, encompassing Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while some other areas rae experiencing clear weather conditions.

Moreover, scattered to light rains accompanied by thunder and lightning are anticipated in select areas of the Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces, with light snowfall expected in certain high-altitude regions within these provinces.

This afternoon, the sky is forecasted to be partly to mostly cloudy nationwide, with a likelihood of scattered to light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, as well as some hilly regions.

Additionally, there’s a possibility of light snowfall in isolated locations of the high hills and Himalayan areas within Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

As night falls, partly to mostly cloudy conditions are expected in the hilly regions of the country, with chances of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Throughout the day and night, the Division has advised people to remain cautious as there may be partial disruptions to road and air traffic due to the anticipated weather conditions in hilly areas, including Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
