NEPSE index drops by single digit on Tuesday



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has witnessed a decline in the general index on Tuesday, the third trading day of the week.

The NEPSE index dropped by 6.24 points, settling at 2067.29 today.

A total of 9,478,933 shares of 307 companies were traded, resulting in a turnover of Rs. 3,633,936,554.

While the Financial group rose by 2.10 points, the Life Insurance group rose by 0.06 points, and the Microfinance group rose by 2.03 points, all other subgroup indices have declined.

The Production and Promotion group decreased by 1.38 percent, and Trade group by 1.31 percent.

The Buddhabhumi Hydropower Company Limited and Sarbottam Cement Limited have hit the positive circuit on their share prices.

Similarly, shares of Dhaulagiri Microfinance Financial Institution Limited increased by 9.99 percent and Infinity Microfinance Financial Institution Limited by 9.45 percent.

However, Siddhartha Investment Growth Scheme-2 decreased by 7.08 percent and Peoples Hydropower Company Limited by 6.91 percent.

In terms of transaction volume, Shivam Cement Limited has conducted business worth Rs. 259,722,367, making it the most traded company today.

In terms of the number of shares traded, Laxmi Equity Fund had 699, 642 shares traded.
