PM Dahal stress on consensus and unity

KATHMANDU: In the midst of a vote of confidence, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, “Prachanda,” underscored the importance of maintaining decorum within Parliament, emphasizing that it is not the appropriate forum for levying personal accusations and recriminations.

Addressing the House of Representatives prior to the confidence vote, Prime Minister Dahal expressed concern over the injection of personal objections into the political discourse.

He urged members to refrain from interpreting government reorganization as a purely apolitical matter, emphasizing that it is, in essence, a political process.

“Some friends of the Nepali Congress interpreted it apolitically and made personal objections and attacks on me,” remarked Prime Minister Dahal.

He highlighted the significance of preserving parliamentary proceedings for political discourse rather than allowing them to devolve into a platform for personal grievances.

Furthermore, PM Dahal asserted his desire to respond to the accusations within the parliamentary record, as failing to do so would, in his view, convey a misleading message to future generations.

By maintaining a focus on political processes and avoiding personal attacks, he urged fellow lawmakers to uphold the sanctity of parliamentary debate.
