Nepal’s former Maoist child combatants warn to drag Prachanda, Baburam to Hague tribunal



KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Former Maoist child combatants have warned that they will move to International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands if the government doesn’t fulfill their demands.

Speaking a press meet organized by Disqualified Maoist Combatants Nepal at Reporters Club Nepal on Thursday, they warned that they will drag the then Maoist leaders Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda, Dr. Baburam Bhattarai and others to the ICC if they failed to provide necessary assistance for their reintegration.

“Either the affected kids be provided with the necessary assistance or the government and the concerned take responsibility of child rights violation by the admission of child combatants,” former child fighter Lelin Bista said at the press meet.

Bista further warned of dragging the leaders to the court within three months if the demands are not fulfilled. He demanded the government comes with social and economic programs incorporating them.

Also speaking another child soldier Ashim Limbu also warned of dragging the then Maoist leaders to the international court.
