KATHMANDU: Aasif Sheikh, a prominent opener for Nepal, showcased his prowess by achieving a commendable half-century, steering the team towards a competitive total in their ICC CWC League 2 encounter against Namibia.

Sheikh’s resilient innings sees him standing firm at 54 runs, having faced 58 deliveries as the match progresses into the 19th over.

This milestone marks Sheikh’s 12th ODI half-century, a testament to his consistency and contribution to the team.

Despite facing early setbacks, with Nepal losing three wickets in the initial powerplay, Sheikh’s composed innings has injected resilience into the team’s batting lineup.

Kushal Bhurtel’s departure after scoring 18 runs, along with Anil Shah and Dev Khanal’s dismissals for ducks, posed significant challenges for Nepal.

Currently, Kushal Malla partners Sheikh at the crease, contributing 21 runs off 30 deliveries, as they strive to build a formidable total against Namibia.
