Canada ‘XI’ defeats Nepal ‘A’ by 4 wickets

KATHMANDU: Canada XI has defeated Nepal ‘A’ cricket team in the first game of three-match series held at Mulpani Cricket Ground on Sunday.

Canada secured victory by 4 wickets against Nepal.

Chasing Nepal’s target of 217 runs, Canada successfully completed the goal by losing 6 wickets in 49.3 overs.

Earlier, Nepal had set a target of 217 runs, losing 8 wickets in the designated 50 overs.

For Nepal, Basir Ahmad contributed with an unbeaten 50 runs, while Rashid Khan scored 40 runs.

Similarly, Mayan Yadav added 35, Kiran Thagunna contributed 25, and Vivek Yadav scored 21 runs.

In the bowling, Canada XI saw Saad Bin Zafar taking the most wickets with 3, while Ishwarijot Sohi claimed 2 wickets.

With this win, Canada leads the 3-match series 1-0.

The second match of the series is scheduled for February 20, and the third match will take place on February 22.
