TikTok appeals to Nepal govt for lifting ban, pledges five-point commitment

KATHMANDU: Chinese digital video creation giant, TikTok, has urged the Nepal government to reconsider and lift the ban on its platform.

The company, in a formal letter, has put forward a five-point commitment aimed at addressing regulatory concerns.

TikTok has pledged to strictly adhere to Nepal’s legal processes, establish direct communication channels for content-related discussions, implement content filtering measures for Nepali users, conduct nationwide initiatives for internet safety and digital literacy, and prioritize the production of educational content beneficial for students in schools and colleges.
