PM Dahal vows protection and promotion of indigenous communities’ knowledge and skills



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has pledged to enhance the protection and promotion of the knowledge and skills of indigenous nationalities, aiming to boost national income.

Speaking at an event marking the third anniversary of the Indigenous Nationalities Commission, PM Dahal assured maximum efforts to UNESCO inscription of cultural heritages and the implementation of the Indigenous and Tribal People’s Convention.

Recognizing resource constraints and delays in establishing provincial offices, he promised initiatives to address the lack of proportional representation of indigenous communities in decision-making.

PM Dahal acknowledged the Commission’s crucial role in building an inclusive and just Nepal, emphasizing that its formation aimed to promote the identity and representation of the indigenous population for the development of a prosperous nation.
