NA and U.S. Indo-Pacific Command to co-host multinational Shanti Prayas Exercise



KATHMANDU: The Nepali Army and U.S. Indo-Pacific Command will be co-hosting the multinational Shanti Prayas Exercise at the Birendra Peace Operations Training Center in Nepal with over 1,000 participants from over 20 countries from February 20 to March 4, 2024.

This exercise will showcase Nepal’s expertise in peacekeeping and the United States’ unwavering support of the Nepali Army’s global mission for peace, according to the US Embassy in Kathmandu.

Both nations will collaborate with other partner nations to improve peacekeeping capabilities, strengthen military-to-military cooperation, and enhance the core peacekeeping operations competencies of all participants in accordance with UN doctrine.

U.S. officials will attend to observe the Exercise and demonstrate the U.S.’ commitment to its relationship with Nepal.

It should be noted that the U.S. military and members of the Nepali Army have a long-standing relationship and routinely participate in joint exercises.
